A Dark Alphabet

Dedicated to the Memory of Lisa Roswell, of The Primitive Needle

All the designs will be the same size, with the same checkerboard border.  Because this is rather a large section if stitched over two on 32 count, I recommend stitching it on 40 count, or over one on 28 count to make your finished size more manageable.  I know one person who is planning on finishing it as a bell pull, and another who will be working out a way to make each chart the page of a book...  For myself, I'll be stitching it as a sampler, three sections across and 9 down.  The "extra" square will be on the bottom, after Z to personalize my sampler and dedicate it to Lisa.

For some of the designs, I have used tent stitch instead of cross - to go a little faster, and because I didn't want such substantial coverage.

I have charted these designs with "recommended" DMC colors, but I used various different types of silk overdyed threads for my own sampler, and I encourage you to choose the colors you like and think suit best!

Jo has reported that she has spotted my "deliberate" error - and since I'm not smart enough to have put in a deliberate error, I feel I should point out to those of you who don't want a "jock" in the box, that I forgot the tail on the a... a simple fix for you!
